If your child is late
Children should be at school by 8:30am, registration closes at 8:40am.
If your child is late please make sure they report to the school office, they will be given a 'late card' to give to their Class Teacher so it is known by the Teacher that the child has been marked on the school register and hot lunches ordered (if applicable).

Reporting an absence
Please make sure you telephone the school office by 9:00am on 02380 772968 or email on info@st-marks-southampton.org.uk to report your childs absence; giving details of your childs name, class and the reason for the absence.

Leave of absence requests
Time off during term time is not permitted and will not be authorised by the Headteacher unless there is an exceptional circumstance.
Unauthorised absences (5 school days or more), Unauthorised leave of absences or late arrivals (10 occasions over an 8 week period) may result in you receiving a penalty notice fine of £60 per parent per child.

Persistant absence
Good attendance leads to better outcomes for the children. Children who fall below 90% attendance are known as persistant absentees who will be referred to the Education Welfare Officer (EWO) who will investigate the reason for absence.
